If you're looking for an Alaskan Malamute puppy, the breeders of
Snowlion Alaskan Malamutes, located in Lake Tahoe, both in California
and
Nevada, can help you pick
out the perfect family companion, show dog or sled dog. We are one
of the top
Alaskan malamute breeders, known throughout California, the U.S.,
Europe, Canada, and Australia, for producing beautiful Alaskan
Malamute champions including several outstanding red alaskan malamutes
and the
well-known Best in Show red alaskan malamute, Ch Snowlion's Soldier of
Fortune. The alaskan malamutes at Snowlion Kennels
descend from three distinct ancestral dogs of the 1990s: Uyak Aleut Alex WTD, BISS Ch Nanuke A Rumor of War ROM, and Sky-Fyre/R'Mal dogs (Ch Snowlion Kali Devi WLD and Ch R'mal Snowlion Mystic Zzombe WLD). Almost all of our current dogs reflect the repeated crossing back and forth between these blood lines. Snowlion Alaskan Malamutes, AKC champions and family
companions have gone to Australia, Asia, Canada, Europe, Mexico
and through out the U.S. However, due to the covid pandemic, we are no longer shipping internationally.
Malamutes at Work

Sky, Brook, Jade and Binky are harnessed and ready to go
Getting ready for a run is a ritual the dogs know by heart. They're fed and watered two hours before at the house. Once we arrive at the training site, the dogs are 'dropped' on tieouts so they can relieve themselves. I harness the dogs while John lays out the gangline and packs the ATV with water, a first aid kit and extra rope.

First hookups are sometimes chaotic
After staying home with pups all summer, Sky is in hyperdrive and lets it rip; she forgets her training and chews on the snub line. Behind her, Binky is unsettled by the howls of excitement and Losar wonders about the strange-looking creature (a saluki cross) next to him.
