The Place
Snowlion Kennels was originally established on acreage near Lake Tahoe. While the winter snowfall in the Tahoe basin and the cool summers are ideal for Malamutes, overdevelopment in the region spurred us to look for a more secluded property with a better trail system.
After three years of roaming the western states--including multiple visits to Montana, Oregon, Washington, Idaho--we stumbled across the perfect place in northern California. The 50 acre parcel is remote: 4 miles from the nearest secondary (dirt) road, with no phone or power, but it connects to over a hundred miles of smooth sandy trails that wind through Lassen national forest and across mountain passes. We spend most of our time at the new location which is 3 hours north of Tahoe, near Lassen National Park, and return to the Tahoe area occasionally for holidays.
The cabin is now complete with running water, heat, and generator-powered electricity. What more could we want? The dogs love it here!
